We were recently asked to provide master planning services for The Cooper Hill Apartment Campus in New Rochelle. Cooper Hill is a 216 unit garden style community on 13.9 acres completed in 1951 with 53 2 story residential structures. New owners are poised to provide capital improvements campus wide upgrades inside and out.
Interestingly, the original site planning for the development has direct roots to the Garden City Movement initiated by Sir Ebenezer Howard and Russell Unwin around 1898 in England incorporating ideas about self-contained communities surrounded by greenbelts containing proportionate areas of residences, industry and agriculture.
